Default Digital oil temp and level dipstick

I have a 2017 UltraLimited, and purchased the New Digital oil temp and level dipstick. When I put 4 1/2 qts of oil in the crankcase after I change the oil, and filter, It always shows overfill. On my stock dipstick, it reads full. Harley is giving me a run around saying everything is good. Anyone else have that problem ?

the oil level is the same no matter what stick you use. 4 1/2 quarts is plenty of oil. "everything is good" would be right.

The digital dipstick also has a physical level on it just like the OEM stick.
Im unsure if the design changed with the M8?

Also remember, as with the regular dipstick, the bike needs to be on its kickstand when read.
Also keep in mind, once hot and engine oil splashing all over the sensor, oil expands so the digital might say over filled.
Not a big deal, have had my digital dipstick a couple years now on my 14 Road King, love it. But again, dont have the M8 ...

As long as you verify you have the correct oil level when the oil was changed, and physically checked the dipstick level after running the bike, I would only be concerned if it shows low oil! *L*

I love being able to see the temperature of the oil under different conditions.
I was quite surprised to see some of the highest oil temperatures at the higher speeds (80MPH) when air is slamming through the oil cooler then lower speeds with little air going through it and why that oil cooler is more important for high speed riding, not low speed.

My 16 slim calls for 3 qrts with filter, Service manual and that is still too much.2.5 qrts puts me just a little below full. I know your ultra takes more oil,but I believe Harleys manual is a little over zealous when it comes to oil capacity.I do drain when motor is at full operating temp, and check at full operating temp.
