I say if you've already got the proper weight oil on hand run it! It shouldn't hurt your bike that's for sure.

Brad Penn is good oil. I've used it in other vehicles I've owned, and never had any issues with it, I would imagine if you had the right weight, shouldn't be an issue.

(used to live In Warren, and Bradford is right up the road..)

Default best primary fluid for reducing noise.

5000 mile service is coming up in the next few weeks (it's gonna be nice out, could be this week coming up hahah)

i'm gonna switch to synthetic in all 3 holes, most likely amsoil.

what should i run in my primary to keep the noise down.

sounds like a sewing machine on steroids when the bike is running.

i don't want oil debates...just need to know what my options are in the primary.

I am a big believer in syn in the crankcase of just about any newer motor. But I'm not convinced of the benefits of syn in the primary and/or the transmission. Okay, the tranny? I can see a bit of an advantage to using syn.

The primary? I still need some convincing. Not sure I get it.

But, there's a lot of thngs I don't get.

I use Amsoil ATF in my primary and Amsoil 75/140 Severe Gear in the trans. That combo IMO keeps the shifting pretty quiet. As far as the sewing machine sound. It might be the rockers and valve train making noise. Some guys spend tons of money tring to get rid of it. The sewing machine sound is ok, clicking/ticking is bad.

When I tore down my engine. I had the primary apart. It was pretty clean inside and the clutch plates looked like new. The ATF will come out dark when you change it, ATF has alot of detergents in it.
