Save yourself a lot of trouble and worry and use Mobil 1 20/50 V-Twin synthetic in the engine you can get it a Walmart. Belray 80/140 gear lube in the trans and Belray primary + for the primary.

Mobil 1 20/50 V-Twin full synthetic in all three holes. No issues.

Buy it at walmart, good to go.

I would not recommend motor oil in the transmission.

Another vote for Mobil 1 V-twin 20/50 in all three. Why complicate things to save $1.00 per oil change? Why use motor oil? Because it's actually the same viscosity as the specified gear lube. As long as the Valvoline doesn't have friction modifiers you should be fine with it. You get different opinions because opinions are like ??holes, everyone has one!

Shared engine oil does fine in a 250 horsepower Hayabusa. What's up with a Harley or a Baker transmission that it doesn't?
