Default oil light lit but the oil level is full??

hey guys, I havent ridden my 2007 Dyna Superglide for about a month. My wife washed the bike two days ago and after she blew it off and dryed it off she started it and said it ran for about a minute then it stalled out and a puff of smoke came out of the hypocharger air filter. Today I added about 2 gallons of 93 octane gasoline because it was low and I started it and it did the same thing. The oil light was on and then the engine light. I checked the oil and it is full so I am not sure why the oil light is on?? any thoughts? It has been about 3000 miles since the last oil change so I'm thinking to atleast change the oil and filter tomorrow morning but the oil light shouldnt be on if the level is full right?

Oil light is a pressure sender indicator. Check the wire to make sure it is properly connected.

Don`t bother changing the oil, that is not going to solve anything.

The oil light is a low oil pressure warning light, not a low oil level warning light.

The bike quits, gives an oil pressure light and check engine light, and it started doing this right after washing the bike.

I`m thinking water got into some electrical connections.

First thing you should do RobertV is check for diagnostic codes.

Like Soft said, the light is for a low oil pressure not a low oil level.
