Summer Ride July 11-18
okay so I am planning a 3000 mile ride from the bay area - yellow stone / red lodge - glacier national park and back to the bay area.
I am hoping I can get this all done in 8 days of riding, what do you think? This is Route .01 and will be refined as I get closer to leaving.
Anyone up for a ride during those dates is welcome to join.

Should be real doable in 8 days depending on how many hours/miles a day you can handle.
I tend to hit the road at 7:00am or earlier on trips like this and ride till nearly dark.
You have a pretty good route picked out with lot's to see and do, especially with a couple sidebars at places like Crater Lake or Great Basin National Parks.
When you hit the Or./Wa. border cross over to the Wa. side and ride hiway 14,it's much more relaxing than the I-84 freeway on the Oregon side.
There are some good back road alternatives to hiway 395 from Tri Cities up to Spokane,395 is pretty boring and has a lot of state troopers.
I could also route you some great alternatives to North 97 from Bend,Or. instead taking 26 over to Eastern Oregon and then North into Washington that will be much more scenic and with a great deal less traffic.

Unless you have a reason to go to Spokane I'd continue South on 95,very nice ride!
From Lewiston,Id. you could do Joseph Canyon into Oregon,it's a little known route with very little traffic but quite spectacular.
Be sure and visit Wallowa Lake at the town of Joseph.

Then run from Joseph to Prineville and over to Redmond to catch 97 South, this is also a great ride.
If time allows run over to Sisters from Redmond and then Sisters to Bend,it's worth checking out Sisters and the view of the Cascades from Sisters to Bend is stunning.
When in Bend take a spin up to the top Pilot Butte state park for a 360 deg viewpoint of the region.
Take Greenwood Ave (hiway 20) East off 97 and you run right into it.
