I have the pipe but the dealer told me I would need a tune if I added the SE air filter. True? Not interested in a tune once I was told that it would be big dollars. Not worth it for a couple more ponies.
Still a lot of the dealerships not trained up on the Pan Am, it's just going to take a minute for them to catch up is all.
Not only does it not need a tune for the SE air filter, there is no tune available except third party (FuelMoto). If an actual dealer told you that I'd find a new dealer.
I like this dealer, I will stick with them - for now. I will give them the benefit of a doubt since the PA is still relatively new. They move a lot of iron; they've already sold three 2022 PA's in the past month. The other nearby dealer hasn't even seen a 2022 yet.
The whine is a hard start the bike is prone where it'll make noise instead of starting. Check my post "jabbing Harley for fun" to hear it. I've had the issue from day 1
Thanks. My new PA is under cover in the garage. Once this cold Minnesota winter loosens its grip, I'll get a chance to see if my bike is a whiner.
Are you using the SE High-Flow or the Extreme-Flow?
Mine is the High Flow - the kind of hex shaped one. Part number 2900426. At the time I got the bike, it was the only one available, but I have no regrets and no intent to replace with the Extreme one.
Bear in mind, it's a bit of a pain to take the tank off to replace the filter. You don't want to do it too often!
Took it in for the seat recall and while it was there the aluminum side cases and top case came in. Dealer was going install those but decided to wait for recall part so he wouldn’t have to remove top case/side case. While waiting I had the more aggressive tires mounted. My conversation was “use your best judgement “..
This issue in itself isn’t the reason I regret the purchase, the experience of ownership as a whole. Not one big thing but many, too many “now what”
