There is a solution available that makes a very noticeable difference in this aspect of the bagger’s handling, a Progressive Touring Link.

This simple-to-install, yet beefy device - bolts between the rear frame and the swingarm on your touring model. In doing so, it imparts additional rigidity on the rear end of your bike as the swingarm moves up and down in the bike’s frame. This keeps the swingarm in a much straighter alignment with the bike’s frame than is possible in stock configuration. The result is a noticeable improvement in the bike’s handling, especially if you ride two-up or with a full loadout of luggage. After your first ride, you’ll wonder why you didn’t install one sooner!

Installation is simple and all required components are in the box. An evening in the garage and simple hand tools are all it takes. You’ll find the included instructions to be very concise for added piece of mind.

You can improve the handling with this device on 1993-2013 Harley-Davidson FL Touring motorcycles. About the only caveat is that, on 2009-2013 models, this kit only fits machines equipped with a 2-into-1 exhaust system, not any bike with a cross-under exhaust. So please be wary of this concern.
