Going to a 6 speed transmission....what else to replace?

After a ton of research, I've decided that going to a 6 speed transmission is something that my 2004 Road King Custom will benefit from. I will be purchasing a Baker DD6 builders kit in a few days.

My question to everyone is, what else should I replace or inspect while installing this trans kit?

Couple things you will need:

Part# 95E-56B speedometer re-calibration unit. When you change from a 5 speed to a 6 speed it throws the speedometer off 7 %. This unit will correct that.

Something else you may want to consider is the High torque bearing kit part # 189-56
The stock inner primary race has a tendency to walk into the main drive gear. This will eliminate that possibility. Here is a link:

Thanks Mark, both of those items are already on my list!

Your harley transmission case may need a little dremmel work. My '03 ultra did, not all though. Takes about 5 minutes. I'm not taking mine apart for pictures, Mark might have one.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when I am installing the new gear set.
