Default 05 roadking nut won't bottom out on clutch basket

I just did a gear set swap in an 05 road King. Had a Bros probationary member attempt to push bearing out of the inner primary and broke it. The original inner primary was part number 60677-01c, I replaced it with 60677-01a. The gear set I swapped with after comparing the length of the splined portion of the main shaft was longer than the original. And what I thought was the cause of the clutch nut not bottoming out and holding the clutch basket tight probably 3/4" of play between inner primary and clutch nut . I since pulled the gear set back out, put the original in nothing wrong with gear set, doing all this cuz of bad main bearing. Get the original gear set in and back together and still can'tget the nut to tighten up on the basket. The only other possibility is the inner primary. Anyone know anything about changes to these inner primarr

Trying to make this little easier to follow.
Just re-read this. You swapped inner primaries because the original cracked when removing bearing. So inner primary and main bearing in tranny are now what is new. Orginal and a new gear set both have an issue.

60432-1 is what is listed for the primary of 2005 FLHR. I would think FLHs are same, but did not look at other years.

There is a steel washer that should be stuck into the inner clutch hub that hold the clutch in place. It is possible that it got knocked loose and is gone.. Post a pick of issue will help.

I've had my 01 and 07 off many times. Also replaced them. Don't recall washer. Stuck good, as almost permanent?

It's part of the inner clutch hub.
