I have a 1999 Dyna FXDX with 95" motor and 116hp to the wheel. Today it started making a very slight grind noise but only a couple of times. When I shift back down into 1st gear while slowing down or coming to a stop, I couple of times heard a very light grind noise while it was in 1st gear. Hard to explain but it sounds like if it wasn't completley in the gear but it was or like a jackshaft barley toughing the ring gear, thats just kind of an example I can think of that what it sounds like. If anyone has any ideas let me know thanks. Also I have stock gears in it.

2nd problem I decided to put here so I don't have to make more posts

Sometimes in 3rd gear it feels like it lets go and then grabs again, almost like if I pulled in the clutch and released it. Any ideas?

If anyone knows these problems can you please give me an idea of how much it cost to fix or what need to be fixed?

 

My guess is your clutch is going bad.
