Default Changing Primary cover

Hello, I hope someone can help with this question. I have a 1991 Sportster 1200, and wanted to get a chrome primary cover, I bought one and got the wrong one shipped to me, having a hard time returning it, I receive one for 94-03, looking at it, I know I should be able to get it to fit, but not sure of what I need to change out, especially if I need to change the adjusting screw, it seems easy, but just not sure of the parts I need to replace. Thank you for your help with this

Default RE: Changing Primary cover

The first thing I would do is check the part number with your dealer to see if it will fit your year & model. Don't just eyeball it up. Next get a service manual so you have the right procedure correct torque specs and tightening sequence if there is one. You will also need gaskets for the primary cover, derby cover, inspection cover and maybe even shifter & correctoil. But first make certain it will fit your bike.
