Default Wondering where an exhaust nut fell into

I dropped an exhaust flange nut, when I was installing my new Fat Cat. I am pretty sure it dropped onto the engine. Couldn't find it. It is possible it went down the open slot just inboard of the inner primary cover. Where would it end up if it went in there? I no longer need the nut just wondering where that opening goes to.

Default better find it

You had better try and find it as IF you had lost it down the exhaust port you will find it very quickly. If you dropped it into the open slot just inboard of the inner primary cover (and the motor?), that may be OK. Use an air compressor to try and find it. It probably will not make it past the exhaust valve if you dropped it there but your whole situation is unacceptable from a mechanical stand point unless you had on both pipes so nothing (nut) could go into the head. Good luck but error on the side of safety.

Default

I had the new pipes in the exhaust ports trying to put on the flange nuts, when I dropped one of the nuts , so I know there is no way it could have fallen in the exhaust port. I was just wondering where that open slot area goes to.
