Primary Drain Plug??

Primary Drain Plug??
Doing some reading and it seems that I DO NOT need a New O-Ring for the Primary drain plug once I drain Lubricant and replace. The Stealer sold me two O-ring's one for the Engine Plug and one for the Tranny Plug but not one for the Primary..... Am I correct in thinking what ever type of plug the Primary is I don't need a new O-Ring?
Thanks for your help.

You should have asked the parts person if what they gave you was correct for your bike, or just asked for the correct kit (There is a complete Service Seal Kit for 1, 5 and 10k intervals).
It is in your best interest to replace it, as the first time it is torqued down, the sealing properties are used, and the ring is cut into by the threads. You will see that when you remove the drain plugs from the other cavities....
And why would you replace 2 other o-rings, and not a third that is the very same construction plug....
Contrary what others say, the new style drain plugs on the cruise drive primaries need to utilize an o-ring, as they are not tapered like the older primary plugs...

These things are dirt cheap. Get a bag full at auto supply store or hydraulic supply shops. They are the basic buna grade of o ring. I've never removed one that wasn't damaged in the removal process to some extent, so they always get replaced. Lube them up good on the install and they won't tear.

Thanks for your responses Guys! I think I will have to take one of the old O-rings that came off the Engine drain plug that is still in decent shape and hit an automotive store and get a bag of them like you suggested. Then I will have them at my beckin call... My stealer charged me a dollar a piece but I bet I can get a full bag of the right size for 10 or 20 bucks at an automotive supply dealer.
Thanks again

I'm not sure what model and year you have but the drain on mine is a tapered thread torx and is completely different from the engine oil and trans. drain plugs which do use "O" rings. My manual states to use teflon tape. The plug should protrude from the case 4.1 - 4.6mm. Make sure you understand the difference between PROTRUDING and recessed. If you don't have a service manual for your bike and you plan on doing your own routine maintenance, now is a good time to get one. All kinds of important tidbits in there.
