Default 30 T Pulley - Andrews or Ultima

Was getting ready to order an Andrews 30 tooth pulley on eBay for $85 shipped and before I did I found one made by Ultima for $35 shipped.

My first thought is that it is just a pulley and how bad can anyone screw that up. My second thought is man, it is only $50 more for the Andrews pulley, why risk having to take the thing all apart again or worse.

Any opinions on this?

BTW, the Ultima pulley is listed for sale by Demons Cycle. I know that many of the forum members here have sworn never to buy anything from them. Again, how bad can you screw up a pulley?

Hey Kid
I just ordered one for $53 or thereabouts, from Surdyke. It's the HD 30 tooth pulley.
Dunno who makes it, but it has the Harley part # and they deal in HD parts. So guess it is a good part. On sale today!

OK, that sounds interesting. The only problem is that I can not seem to find the HD pulley in the accessories catalog or on the HD website. Do you happen to have the part #?

Very interesting. I did not realize that this pulley was for sportster. Not quite sure that it will fit a big twin. Not to mention, I still can not find the part on the HD website or in the 2004 or 2007 HD parts catalog. I did however see it on Surdyke.

Good luck with it and I hope that you enjoy.

Hey Kid
I have no idea about this pulley on a big twin........only sportster. This paticular part is only for the sportsters, according to the parts catalog that I have.
This pulley is stock on the international models from what I see.
I got a softail and the pulley on it is 32 tooth. In my softail parts book...only one front pulley is shown..
In the sportster book....multiple front pulleys available.
Good luck.........Pete
