Question Rear belt too close to exhaust pipe

Just traded in my '05 RK Classic for a 2012 RK Classic. I notice that the new exhaust crossover pipe that goes under the bike is extremely close to the rear belt, less that 1/2 inch away. Harley says there is no issue with heat but I don't believe that. Does anyone have any first hand experience, with real miles on ther bike ?

Welcome to HDF from the UK.

Take a look at other bikes in the showroom. That exhaust layout has been around since 2009 and if there are any problems with them we would have heard about them in HDF long ago!

Ride and enjoy - if the weather this time of year will let you!
