Default RE: Reduce effort clutch

Just put on on my 04 FXST. An easy job but be sure to get new exhaust and trans. side cover gaskets. The only hard part of install is getting the snap ring out of the side cover. I had to bend the tips on a set of ring plyers to get it out. That clip is stout!! Also do your self a favor and remove outer primary to install new clutch spring. I had 40k on my primary gasket and it looked new. No crimp/lines nothing. Slaped it back in and no leaks in 300 miles and 1 week. A new one is 20 bucks and thats from Zanotti's. The only draw back to install is if you get the kit it will reduce the lock up of the clutch slightly.(will slip sooner under load) The clutch spring is lighter than stock slightly as well as the ramp angle. Fine as long as not hopping it up. I put mine in because I just ordered the ramps seperate and the SE clutch spring. SE spring is about 30% stronger than stock but with reduced ramps it gets it back to stock pull. Let me know if I can help.

Another option is the white brothers (burly) light clutch that just changes the pull on the lever and the heavier spring remains in the clutch so it will not be a problem with slippage.
Easy install under the trans side cover.

Who makes the kit you all installed?
My brother is complaining about his cluthes slipping after installing a Euro components EZ pull clutch leverclutch kit.
Is this the same mod the topic is refering to????

Thanks

Starting with the 06 models HD installed there own reduced pull clutch straight from the factory.. It acomplishes it by using a slightly lighter clutch spring in the clutch as well as ramps with longer slope that the ball bearings travel in located in the side transmission cover. It comes as a kit (36808-05) from HD that will retro on all twin cams but gives a slightly less stronger clutch at expense of a easer pull. I bought the ramps (25605-00A and 25604-00A) for total of about 16 bucks and the SE clutch springs (37951-98) for another 19 bucks from Zanotti to increase the lock up and still not kill my hand in traffic and still do it on the cheap after all I've spent on this build. Not fimiliar w/Euro but sure it acommplish it the same way. The lighter spring is letting it slip when he romps on it.

Default RE: Reduce effort clutch

New to the site, I thought maybe someone out there might have some answers. I just finished putting one of those reduce effort clutches in my wifes 05 Deluxe. The kit I used was from Harley, it wasn't difficult at all , but I can say that Idid not noticeany difference from before to now. I've road a 06 Electric Glide Standard and it sure pulls alot easier than the kit I just installed. Is this kit the only difference between 05 and 06, or is there something else. Thank You for any help.
