The wife and I are leaving Louisville July 3, to Mobile. We've got a week or so to spend on the Gulf Shores. Any advice on good rides, places to stay, drink, eat and things to do. Need all the help I can get guys.

 

Nice area. Mobile has the Battleship Alabama right off I-10 along with a sub and small aircraft display. Pensacola has one of the nicest museums I've seen on the base. Plan to spend most of the day if you like naval aircraft. Also there are two old forts and the lighthouse. Try McGuire's downtown if you can get in. Also Flounder's on the beach.

The Aviation Museum is really nice.

 

I didn't get to spend much time in the area, but I toured Fort Gaines on Dauphin island then took the ferry across the bay to Fort Morgan, which was closed by the time I got there. One of the more memorable days on that trip.

P.S.
While I enjoyed my Gulf oysters in Apalachicola, they are not my favorite. Hard to beat a 1/2 dozen oysters with an ice cold beer at the end of a long day of riding though.
