Thanks Terry ..... I have to move to Ontario now, because it is raining in Kimberly and the first thing I did was look at the radar to see if there was a window of no rain to ride down to Cranbrook ..... you infused a bit of Ontarioism into me. ...... lol

There are some things so indescribable, that they must be seen in Person. The Beartooth is one of those.... If you have never been, then you must go. But once you have gone, you will never stop going back. The magnitude of its pure rugged beauty will draw you back time and time again... It will not let you go.

Once I got on I-90 I was aiming for Butte, as there is a dealer there, and I was not going to turn the bike off until it was in front of a motel room I had paid for. Now, coming into Butte, I saw the I-15 exit, and said to myself, "Self, you did say you where going hunting for new road today, and you have never ridden up 15, and there is a dealer in Great Falls, and there is a motel there you like....", so I shot up 15.... Now, most of us dont like the slab, unless it necessary, but I will tell you, as far as a Slab Ride, 15 is pretty cool. There are three mountain passes, some twisty canyons and great views.... most of it at 80 mph. I am not saying do it as a ride, but if you have been up and down all the other roads going North/South, then it is worthy of a few hours of your time.

There are a few pieces of construction on 89 between Great Falls and St Marys, the entrance into Glacier on the East side.
This one is just north of Browning. Once you are out of Browning, it is about a 45 mile ride to St Marys, and the last price going into St Marys is a nice highway type road.
But... the price from Browning to it, is a road they would have built back in the 30's... narrow, twisty and a wonderful Motorcycle ride.
Now, in my experience, when Montana rebuilds an old road into a modern road, they do about 5 miles a year. The below picture is the first 5 miles North of Browning. So, if it keeps to Montana way of doing highway things, then this road will disappear in he next 5 or 6 years. If you want to ride a piece of history, then you need to go soon.

"A Rogue's Gallery"... just a few of the people I met on this journey...daughter and sister, and little puppy dog...rescue people, mechanics, farmers, and photograpers...passing travlers, new friends and old.... all of whom made my life richer by just meeting them.
I did not do this enough, capturing the people I meet.... I shall do better.

Darla is in the shop, getting ready for the next ride. She is getting an oil change, checking the nuts and bolts, and seeing if I had a problem with the switches after all. I am getting a new washable air filter and will be putting some pegs on the crash bars as well.
This ride ended up with about 13,000 miles (21,000 kilometers) from door to door.
I am heading to Sturgis and will be there about the 10th..... but before I will be heading down through Eastern Washington and riding up Hells Canyon from the bottom end, which is something I have not done....... Then, there is something I need to do after that, and before Sturgis..... Somthing I have been thinking about for a while, but became clear when I was riding over Chief Joseph pass.....
