Vermont rt 100 recomendations
Taking a weekend trip from rt 2 in mass all the way up route 100 in Vermont next month. Thinking of hitting rt 17 along the way, We will be camping on this trip. Any one have any recommendations on camp grounds, food/bars or roads we should hit on the way up or back down.

I rode a portion of what you're talking about years ago. Me and a buddy rode northwest across CT, the up 7 through MA and VT until we crossed 73 over to 100 through Green Mountain Nation Forest. We ended up taking 100 north until we veered off in Stowe and went up and over the mountain on 108. After that we ended up taking 15 east and cut south through Cabot. After that I don't really remember what towns we hit or what roads we were on...we just road in the general direction we wanted to go until we finally hoped on 91 to make tracks home in a damn hurry. Awesome country side through there. We did it in October and it got cold as hell at night. Best I can tell you is that if you go anywhere near 108, do not stop at the little bar down the mountain about half a mile from Smuggler's Notch Resort. It is full of college age hipsters that are all a bunch of smug ****ers in need of *** kickings. It is bad when me and my bro (both still in our 20's at the time) felt like some old heads around those little bastards. We drank our beers and got the hell out of dodge.
