Default Weekend in Dallas

Will be in Dallas for work in a few weeks. I'll be there over a weekend so thinking of renting a bike and exploring - which direction should I go? Figure I could put upwards of 1,000 miles in a weekend by myself...unless I stop and see the sights.

Head south to the Fredricksburg and Kerrville area. Avoid I-35 anywhere.

Work your way west to TX-16 then go south. You can pick up TX-16 by going west on I-20 or south on US377 (west Ft Worth), and a few others.

Enjoy!

if your gonna do that, then whatever you do ride the Twisted Sisters. they are near Kerrville. head towards Hico then head south. If you can stop in LLano for some really good BBQ at Coopers.
BTW Texas HD rents bikes. Talk to Terry.

Yep, what he said. We did that ride a couple of weeks ago. Had a good time. Coopers BBQ is the bomb.

Eastern Oklahoma is a bit closer. Talimena. Robbers cave. Maybe over to Wichita Mts?

I like that option as well. I'm probably going to be in Dallas a few times this summer for work, I'll put this on my list as well. Looks cool.

Give a shout when you decide to do this. I might tag along if you would like some company. I've ridden the Talimena several times. One of my favorite roads.
