Grand Canyon road closure
The state of Arizona has closed the 43 mile section of SR-67 from US-89A at Jacob Lake to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for the season. It usually reopens again in mid-May.
At an elevation over 8,000 feet, this area usually receives over 9 feet of snow a year.

Agree. I prefer the North Rim to the South Rim as well. Rode south from Zion NP to the North Rim last summer. Awesome sweepers over high mountain ridges and almost no traffic. The Park Lodge (same construction as the El Tovar at the South Rim) is right on the edge of the rim. Book one of the many log cabins there if you plan to stay overnight.
