As many of you know, HOG has the "ABCs of Touring," which is a contest to get a photo of your bike by as many official city/county/state signs as you are able, one for each letter of the alphabet. I've never entered the contest, but I've done it unofficially a few times in the past. A couple days ago the weather forecast was for great riding weather in east-central Kansas. I figured I'd try to do the ABCs for cities/towns/villages/burgs/wide spots in the road in Kansas only. Kansas is one of the few states fortunate enough to have a city that starts with the letter "X," so I will be able to get all 26 of 'em. Plotted out a route and took off yesterday morning in 59 degree weather. Got home mid afternoon in 64 degree weather after logging 13 cities and just short of 200 miles. It was a fine day of riding, indeed! Very unusual for this part of the country.
