Many thanks to my buddy John in lower Michigan and my new friends at the club. Made it up to UP and was heading towards Copper Harbor, stayed on 2 instead at Bigfoot Motel in Crystal Falls. Thankful I only hit part of big storm. Roads washed out nearby. Was going to post a few pics but somehow don't see the attachment area to do attachment. Anyone know what happened? Why don't I see it anymore?

Thanks Big John for letting me crash at your pad and for the beers. Good folks at the club.

Default Now I can post pics. Couldn't load GoPro video.

Bigfoot Hideaway Crystal Falls UP. Clean, cheap, ATV, bike, hiker friendly. Management here are AOK. Dodged the big storm.

Thank you Notgrownup. Near Wake Forest. No decent pic today. HiWay 2 flooded out, had to detour. Got twisted but hats off to one of our riding Brothers from Wisconsin, a farmer named Kent. He put me on the correct path.

Default Alaska trip

This is a northward view from TransCanada 1 somewhere between Portage la Prairie Manitoba and Swift Current Saskatchewan. The vastness is incomprehensible to me. Sorry that my photography skills do not adequately reflect the true beauty.

Default Alaska trip

The weather has been good last couple of days. The scenery nice. The folks along the way are the best. Had a couple of beers with Gary and Frank. Just two old wore out looking guys that told me to sit down while I was waiting at a grill and go. Turns out they were both Vietnam vets. The beers turned into stories, Gary had stepped on a mine in 68. Lost both legs, Frank was a radio operator in DaNang ( something like that). Those guys were great. Real stories from real people. I'm glad folks are finally starting to appreciate their contributions. Then there were also the "bikers" I met at breakfast. Yep bicyclers. Riding from Vancouver to Winnipeg. Pedaling...jeez, I felt like such a wimp as i cruised away essentially sitting in my recliner. Finally there was the lady at the campground and her son Wyatt. He thought I was a magician, because I could amazingly pull quarters out of his ears while telling him he needed to wash them better. Maybe he'll grow up to be a rider. It's easy to impress a 3 year old.
