If you guys ever want to make a trek to the beach for BBQ, you can stay at our house in Emerald Isle. Nearby we have Thig's, Caino's, Shepard and Social Q. You could have a BBQ overload long weekend. And for the adventurous, we can ride to Havelock, catch the ferry over to Oriental and hit Rick's NC BBQ.

BBQ started in the east, eastern NC and VA, 300 years ago. Came from the Caribbean. Slave trade likely brought it in.
That said, I prefer to ride west in the morning. No sun in my eyes, and there are mountains in the west.
But the truth is, I am so spoiled rotten in retirement that I don’t like to make plans about anything. My wife asks what my plans are for the day when she sees me drinking coffee at 7AM in “my” chair. I tell her that I plan to finish that cup, and after that I’m doing whatever is next.
My duties as junior assistant babysitter tend to interrupt this, but it is a joyous interruption.

When you get here just be careful of the twisty mountain roads and no traffic, I’m sure you’re not use to those conditions.
Seriously though every one of you are welcome here. We are done remodeling. For now…

Given the population of the various regions, it's hardly surprising "eastern" got more votes, and of course there's that whole East VS West thing going on.
As I'm "not from 'round heah"I just enjoy both types (well actually I <shudder> enjoy barbecue regardless of region including <GASP> non-North Carolina 'cue

Actually I can house about 6 of you ruffians. Provided 4 of you don’t mind spooning in the same beds.
