Our daughter and SIL came in the weekend of Thanksgiving and are here until the new year.

We have been eating way too much already, but today we partied hard at the Smoke Pit.

Zach was wanting some good BBQ and I made a few suggestions which included the Broken Spit in Siler City. That was the plan for today, but the weather drove us to go somewhere closer.




We started with Texas Twinkies and they were delicious:







The Carolina Girl went with pulled pork, greens and Mac-n-cheese.




Lindsay went with the tacos and was absolutely shocked at how large they were.




Zach had the sliced brisket and burnt ends!




Hang own, I went over the top with plans to share.

I got ribs, corn, beans and the famous Brisket sandwich with fries.












Everything is great, but my favorite of all were the ribs!

I hardly ever bring food home, but we ordered way too much. I’ll be enjoying round #2 here in a couple of hours.

To top it off the kids picked up the tab!

Son of a… I gotta go to Siler City..

 

Yeah, borderline sinful but we sure enjoyed it. This was at noon today and no one has touched any left overs. We are still stuffed!

But for what’s it’s worth we could have had a similar fest at the Broken Spit also.

 

Wife and I have THAT one on our destination list now.

 

....if Thanksgiving was a BBQ based holiday. LOL

 

I would be up for going back to the Broken Spit.

Rainy day all day yesterday. My wife and I braved the storm (in the car) and went to Real McCoys in Wake Forest for something to do. (I could have went in the garage and worked on my Road King broken drive belt, but nah..) Not a BBQ place, but I did have the "Bar Tacos" appetizer. They change what's in them daily, yesterday was pulled pork. Very good. Sorry that's all I got, and no pics. I did have a few Raleigh Brewing Hell Yes Ma'am so my wife drove home.

 

That broken belt is a bitch to replace can’t. Shame we have to take so much crap off to get to it.
