Very ambitious - I like it.

I’ve run RT-66 a few times, including a 2-week end-to-end ride. It’s a great experience.

Assuming you’re retired (or have massive reserves of PTO available). How long are you planning for the trip? I would pay special attention to the time of year across your route.

I haven't completely mapped it out yet, but a back-of-the-envelope SWAG is about 5100 miles or so.

Absolutely retired. Planning for the weather is the hard part. I hope to leave at the end of May or so.

Keep us informed, I retire in 1 1/2 years, starting my RT 66 retiring gift to me. Riding a different route back is interesting ( Lincoln HWY )

It will be well over that but sounds like fun. Last time I did a solo epic ride was in 2012. I rode from Va to Colorado to Wyoming to Montana to BC and made my way back via Chicago to the east coast. That was less ambitious than your jaunt and it was 6400 miles over 2 weeks.
