Planning to take a ride from Monterey, CA to DFW, TX. Has anyone made the trip from the Cali Bay Area to Texas? What route do you recommend? I've got a week to play with next month.

I've driven hwy 10 a few time, but don't recommend it unless you are looking to get there in the fastest time possible.
