Tom from http://harleygoodies.com/ here. You beat me to it. Plenty of members from all over that are more than willing to help. You might want to try the regional section as well.

Regards,

Cannon beach is nice. Not overly crowded and has a good pub. Seaside is crowded and touristy. Lincoln city is the same but bigger. But if you like to gamble and take in a show, they got you covered.

Lincoln City, Florence, Bandon are all pretty neat places to hang around. Theres a Harley dealer in Coos Bay, and one in Eureka as well both pretty cool dealers. the view down the Oregon coast is just spectacular the whole way. I do Florence to bay area CA pretty often, nice easy ride.

Depoe Bay and Yachats are really cool towns. Excellent bakery on the ocean side of main street about the middle of Yachats (best sticky buns on earth).

Take the time to go on a Dune buggie ride in Florence it's a blast.Be ready for some slow going lots of RVs and small towns with 35 mph or less speed limits.Don't do the sea lion caves unless you like the smell of sea lion chit.

Be prepared for low temps. It can be cool and or foggy.

If you like seafood check out the pirates cove restaurant. I think it's just north of Garabaldi. Get there early

Left The island and took the ferry into Port Angeles WA...rode to Astoria that day....just as you cross the bridge from WA state take a left and you'll find a few hotels. Mary Todd Worker's Bar and Grill ( on the right) is great to drink at, as well as a steak and egg breakfast for $5. The hotel we stayed at was just before the bar (can't remember the name). The next day we made it down to Coos Bay on 101. There is a Dealer in Coos Bay and as you head out of town there is a hotel (Best Western) on the left near the river. You'll have to walk or ride to a place to eat...but it's a nice hotel at a good price. The next day will be a ride to remember...when you get to Legget take 1 and enjoy the ride...we stayed in Fort Bragg.....The next day will also be a labor intensive ride along the coast....switch backs are plentiful....we then stayed in San Francisco. The next Day we stayed in San Luis Obispo....the next day we rode south and had a great ride up til Malibu...after that be prepared for the drivers....the ride down to San Diego is nowhere near what it was 20 years ago.....they've wrecked the coast with all the condos...i would head towards Vegas or somewhere else rather than go south of Malibu....but do what you want and enjoy the ride....the stretch after Legget on 1 will probably be one of the most challenging, but it's beautiful and will leave a lasting memory......
