love sturgis and the surrounding area but never during sturgis. I like to ride my bike instead of sit on it in a parade. probably do a lot of local riding this year. lots of great roads and scenory just have to get off the beaten path

 

In mid July the wife and I are riding the Blue Ridge Parkway south then heading to Savannah for a couple days then rolling back home.Hopefully we can stay on 2 lanes 99% of the time.

 

I will go to Laughlin and Sturgis until I'm in a home or 6' under. What I won't do anymore is Daytona and Myrtle Beach.

 

Taking the long away around the country with stops at the Mother plant and Sturgis will be the turn around point.

 

Heading to Sturgis this year - 2 weeks before the rally. Plan to travel the Blackhills, Badlands and points beyond.

 

Did Sturgis last year... it was a great time, stayed in Keystone, and really enjoyed it. This year we'll be doing a ride around Lake Superior.

Anyone have any recommendations for good hotels / B&B's on such a trip? We'll be traveling in early August.
