Any Advice - L.A. to Prescott AZ
I'm a newbie. I'd so appreciate any advice regarding my upcoming roundtrip ride from LA to Prescott AZ. My only experience on a trip that length is LA to Big Sur.
I'd love advice about: the route, if any, that would make the trip more enjoyable; any must have gear; must stop at etc...
Much obliged.

Don't be discouraged gotta have thick skin sometimes. would suggest using google maps or HD trip planner try and play with a route that you think you might like. Then post that up with specific question ie fuel ,road conditions ect. Also previous responses are valid excpt for the Oatman one I think dcb58 is on the town council and trying to drum up turisum!

Have not been on all these roads but depending where u start from would keep you off the big road.

i'm in santa monica and like to ride around in arizona and new mexico. i usually take the 60 to the 10 to 177 at desert center (or you can take 62 up thru joshua tree and 29 palms to 177) to 95 to needles and 40 east. then 40 east to kingman and flagstaff and beyond. route 40 in az isn't bad. if you have time you can pick up route 66 in kingman to seligman then back on 40 to 89 south and prescott. note: vidal junction, at the intersection of 95 and 177, does NOT carry premium gas. have fun and be safe.

This the route I took to the coast. Try to stay off the I10 as much as possible.
