Am I crazy??

Hell yea , my shovel is my every day rider and has been for 30 years ,I wouldn't think twice about selling the Twinkie ,I know I wouldn't trade my 42 year old shovel even swap for the new cookie cutters ,everytime that shovel pops to life you'll forget all about the Twinkie ,it has no soul like a true Shovelhead does ,the ones that says a day a week is enough on a shovel just means it's time to drive your SUV then

Still here, and a little closer to trading. I found a 74 Shriner edition (yes I'm a Shriner) for 14,000. Sounds really high to me, even for "mostly original , with all take off parts included". I'm looking to trade my 12 Shriner Edition Ultra for the bike and some cash. How does that price sound??

I chatted with him for a while last night about the history of the bike and I talked him out of selling it. The bike does have a rich history with the local Shriners, and was purchased from the deceased Shriners grandson. The owner has decided to keep it and show it through the local Shriners. Documentation from the MoCo backs up all of the claims it was produced specifically for the Shriners. I still want to make the drive to check it out though.

Prices are locally driven although eBay has changed that somewhat. While the price seems a bit steep, if there is not much work/expense do do on the bike, it becomes more reasonable. If you got one for $12K and it needed paint, rechroming parts etc., you'd be back up in the $14K range pretty quick. Then there is the Shriner connection that only you can put a price tag on.
