Voltage Regulator Relocation
3 Attachment(s)
On my '75 FXE, mounting forward controls requires a relocation of the voltage regulator, as the pivot for the shifter intrudes into the space where the regulator sits.
These mounting blocks looked to be simple and clean way to relocate the regulator, as they use the engine mounting bolts below the stock position. Do the blocks replace the nuts on the bolts that tie the engine to the frame? Or do I try to use the 1/4 inch or so left on top of the nut? Really don't want the engine to start bouncing around in the frame at 75 mph on the interstate with a Freightliner on my tail... Also, is the finned heat sink necessary? |
yea take the nuts off measure the depth of the thread in the block and maybe a bolt change will help - a nut is 5 threads with bolt change if you can get 7 its a win
