When removing the float bowl, noticed movement/shifting of the carb. Manifold clamps were loose so tighten them up and now no movement. Perhaps the reason popping/hesitation on acceleration only occurred after riding a few miles and the bike heats up and the reason I could not find any leaks when I started up the bike.

glad you found the intake leak.

My S&S has a support bar that goes from the carb backing plate to the front rocker box. Is that what you have? Mine works great.

HSCIC that is one sweet bike you have there!! been following your posts and there are some nice machines around here in the forums, I have been eyeballing this 79FLH80 for sale near me would love to have it but cant justify spending much money right now!!

Not on a '71 I wouldn't think...as the Early rockers did Not have that threaded boss...
BTW the kind you describe are the Very Best for mounting a CV to any Rubbermount Shovel!! While the length adjustable center case mount [S&S is what mine is] are great for Rigid Mounting!!

Yes the S&S support bracket works great...so great I did not feel any movement in the manifold until I took it off lol

Not my bike but I wish it was, its one for sale here locally!! been trying to figure out how to come up with a excuse for the wife to convince her I really should own that one!! as far as the trophies I am not sure but saw them in the picture also!! I may have to call this guy and find out? that's how it always starts! LOL
