Beautiful ride Randy. I hope mine turns out as good. Just did a quick trip to the shop to see how things are coming along and drop off the parts for paint. Everything looks like it’s moving along. Case was on the milling machine getting fit for an oversized breather gear. Trans is waiting for the new 1st and 2 nd gears, counter and main shaft. Found that I need a new rear belt pulley 40221-85a, so I will look for one and and might as well get a new trans pulley too. Too bad, that rear pulley was the only piece with original paint. Also need a Keihin butterfly carb 27470-81a and manifold if anyone has these available? Members here can confirm I am good to deal with.
btw. I got one of those medallions off of troy and they are excellent.

27494-81a carburator , dose any one know the difference between this one & a 27470-81a ?
to pjb, your 1985 carb is not what were looking for, the difference in the 1981 carb is that it dose not have the vacuum air fitting that is used on 83 & later carbs used with the electronic ignition , with the 81 carb it has the pull push throttle cables , & you can convert your 83 to a reg. points ignition & avoid the use of the black box electronic ignition module .plus your intake for the EVO will not bolt up to the shovel intake ports .
