Thanks Surfor.......................Couldn't convince Son-In-Law to get a Harley. But he takes great care of the Daughter and on top of that got her a Sporty since she wouldn't ride the Victory.

That looks like a fun time! Have to put that on the bucket list!!! Going to Sturgis for 2 weeks this year so any other big events are out!!! Looks like you could stay there and Ride the Dragon.... wanna do that some day!!! Thanks for the info!

Nice little piece of history you got there!!!!! I love my Shovel but the wifes not a fan of it. She says it's not real comfortable and I have to agree with her! Solo is great but 2 up is a pain in the back.... literally! I take it to local shows when I'm going myself. The Heritage was a 25 year wedding anniversary present to each other. Gotta say I love the Softail a lot but the Shovel does turn heads cause it just sounds great and she is a looker for a bike that is 33 years old. Bought it years ago from the original owner who was almost 80 years old and just couldn't ride it anymore. I think I stole it from him for 6G's but that's all he wanted for it with 20k original miles. I did promise him I'd keep it till I was 80....... so I guess I got to keep it another 30 years!!!

Sure hope I live that long! And I'll keep it as long as I can ride it and then hopefully pass it on to someone else who will enjoy it!

I have stopped by his home at least once every summer. He has a big smile on his face when he sees his old bike. I was gonna restore it back to complete original as he gave me all the parts that he took off (primary cover, timing cover , nacelle , even the original bat wing fairing) and replaced with chrome over the years. I'm not gonna change it till after he passes cause he just loves it like a child. He still misses riding but loves to talk about his Harleys! His wife always hugs me and thanks me for stopping. She says that he'll be talking Harleys for the next week or so after you leave!

So you see, I have to keep the bike..... it has been entrusted to me!!! LOL!!!

Well I finally found some pictures of the "pig" back when she had drag pipes on her. She's a 1978 1/2 FXE
