Pro Clutch noise?
Hello all
I've got a '73 Shovel with the best belt drive ever made: A Brute Classic 8 mm kickstart that I run open.(late model Evo style clutch like the Brute III for shovel applications). Unfortunately my knee is shot and it's time to convert to electric start and I find that Primo stopped making the Classic 2 years ago. I give up trying to find one so I guess I have to go with Primos' only offering that uses the old style clutch drum with the six steel dogs and a Pro clutch. When I ran my first open belt drive long ago with stock clutches it was always noisey. My question: Is the Pro clutch noisey when you engage it or nice and quiet like my Classic?

I have to assume you are talking about the metalic "rattle" when you pull the clutch in. If you are going back to the stock style clutch drum, use steel plates that have the anti-rattle ***** mounted to them. Pull the plates out once a year and lube the ***** and move them around, and also clean the drum, especially around the dogs. This will keep you clutch working at it's peek. That should cure your "rattle" problem.
