does anyone have a fix for a noisy rivera clutch?? (aside from sh1tcanning it..)
I installed it last year when I was running a closed primary and hardly heard anything.
Recently I went to a kick only setup with an open BDL 2" primary, and now when I ride, the damn clutch is all I can hear.
I like the fact the the clutch lever is "light", and the clutch itself works fine.
The adjustment is per the rivera installation instructions
The bottom line is even the so called "quiet clutch" options available eventually get noisy as the fingers on the clutch plates wear down. And unless you're willing to replace your clutch pack while the friction plates are actually still good there's not much you can do about it.
And yes, obviously a dry (open primary) will be noisier than a wet (closed primary.) But all clutches rattle.
There's another current thread where some guys are taking their bikes into the dealer and complaining about the noise. But it really is normal. I've been listening to clutches rattle for 40 years, LOL!
Every aftermaket belt/clutch setup I've tried for a shovel sounded like a Jamaican steel drum band on crank their fuggen noisy with a cover on , open would be a nightmare . Shovel clutches make noise with a belt not much you can do about it god knows I've tried for 30+ years you can get them down to livable but never quiet .
