Default Trans set-up 72 FLH Four Speed

After all the kicking around on what to do on this FLH here is where I'm at:
I'm a BIG BOY 300 lbs. I live in the mountains of Georgia, do a little highway riding.
I listened to the GOOD ADVISE in these threads and came up with this :
Close ratio 2.60, 23 tooth front spocket, 47 tooth rear spocket.

Does ayone agree or disagree with this train of thought ????????????????
Thank You
John

You are a big 'ol boy riding a big 'ol bike. You may wan't to experiment a little. Start with the 23/47, but move to a 23/48 or 23/51. It depends on your passenger. I would suggest a 21 on the front, but it is too much work to switch it. The 23 works with a lot of combinations on the rear.

Thought I just answered this , with your situation I wouldn't go any bigger on the front than 22T and 48R or you'll be lugging her constantly and she'll be a total pig on the highway . This will make you run a bit higher RPM highway but you'll have a little something extra to use when needed , besides 60 -65 is a nice cruising range on the old iron .
