When you say the "HD tune", do you mean the Stage 1 tune, not stock tune? I don't know if my bike had that or not. But the general consensus is the HD stage 1 tune is pretty bad, I mean you're back to a pretty lean EPA-imposed spec.

Yes, it's my understanding it was a stage 1 tune for that A/C and V&H combination. There is now some slight decel pops, not bad at all.
Thanks.

But our point is HD stage 1 is basically still kinda bad. It's only slightly better than not tuning. For a small fee you can add gas to make it run cooler, and better. Almost spent the coin on the HD stage 1 tune but for the same price I could get one that allows me to run better now and adjustable for later mods.

Thanks for the info. The previous owner did the HD tune. I guess I'm looking into a proper tuner now....

If your bike supports it the fuel moto is a great option. The other option is the cheap shot from Arlen ness. Just allows you to add a percentage of gas to the mix with 3 ranges. But it'll cost about as much as a single tune.

Left early enough this morning to need a jacket and rode 50 miles to Indy way before I'd had enough coffee. Rode back through the beautiful hills of Brown County Indiana. Haven't seen so many bikes out since last year at Sturgis .

Once it cools off this afternoon I'm going to follow a tip I picked up here in the forums, tighten up all my battery connections and see if that will make my speedometer quit flaking out.
