I didn't buy a bagger in 1979. I bought a new Suzuki GS1000L (what they termed a boulevard cruiser at the time) and added a Windjammer fairing, hard bags and a Cycle Sounds stereo system to it. Couldn't afford a Harley at the time.

The first Harley I ever rode was a '78-1/2 Electra Glide owned by a buddy of mine. I was riding a Ninja 1000R at the time so it took a bit of getting used to I must say. I soon bought a '92 FXRS and then a FatBoy and then a Heritage but finally almost 30 years later I came around and picked up my StreetGlide......Slow learner I guess.

Baggers were always cool. Back in 69-70 I could only afford stripped down pans or sportys.
The question should have been ....when did the younger crowd realize they could handle a big fat farm tractor.... Some of us learned at a younger age.

My question would be are baggers cool to riders in their 20's and 30's or is it that most posters here are just "older"? I had no desire for a fairing and a larger and heavier bike even in my 40's. I am on my first bagger because, well, I am older and now into comfort. Plain and simple.

1975 and 1978 FLH. No radio, inner fairing or bells and whistles. Been on
one ever since.
