Originally this trip was scheduled to start on May 31st but heavy rains delayed the departure until June 5th. 1st day was nothing much but beginning the long journey to get out of Texas. Crossed the Pecos River and finally made it to Fort Stockton for the evening.








Day 2 finally saw Mountain Tie zone and New Mexico. I stopped at Roswell HD and visited the Alien then proceeded on to Ruidoso for the evening.

 

Day 3 was spent traveling across New Mexico from Ruidoso to I=25 for a few miles then west on 60 at Socorro. NM. I took 60 west from Socorro to Datil, NM and there NM 12 tot he town of Reserve, NM/ West from there on to Alpine, AZ then north on 191 until I eventually wound up in Cortez, CO. 655 miles this day.

 

Once arriving in Cortez it was time to clean some dead bugs off the bike and do some laundry so I took a day off but did visit Mesa Verde National Park.

 

The following day was absolutely incredible. Left Cortez in the morning through Dolores, Telluride, Placerville, Ouray, Silverton then stayed in Durango.

 

After a peaceful evening in Durango I departed for Monticello, UT then south on 191 until hitting UT 95 South of Blanding. Visited Natural Bridges National Park and Lake Powell which is very low at the moment. Finally stopped in Hanksville, UT.

The following morning it was very windy with a 50% chance of rain so I decided to hang out for a day. It cleared by the afternoon so I took a ride over to Capital Reef National Park.

 

The next day was west from Hansville on UT 24 to Torrey then on UT 12 which is a great ride including Bryce Canyon. After leaving Bryce Canyon I made it on to Kanab, UT for the evening.

 

The following day I had to go through Zion again. My original plan was to head north out of Zion but when I left the park there were several mean looking black clouds to the north and sunshine tot he south so Vegas here we come.

 

Once arriving in Vegas I decided to become a tourist, hit the Harley Davidson Cafe, Counts Kustoms, and Hogs and Heifers
