We were mostly on backroads with alls kinds of twists and turns as well as the highway going home. Left at 10:30 in the morning and got home at 6:00 (stopped for a nice lunch). Ended up being a 225 mile trip which I know isn't long but my longest. Felt great but admit to being mentally tired at the end and maybe a sore butt. A great experience. It was a perfect summer day for a ride, the kind of ride I imagined when I bought the bike.

Is it possible I got 55 mpg? I double checked my math and that's the number that kept coming up.
Sounds like a great Sunday putt.

Yes, mostly back roads and riding easy, 55 mpg is possible.

If you started with a full tank, then took the miles you rode and divided it by how much gas you put in the tank to get it back to the same fill, that is the MPG you got.

One thing you might want to double check is your speedo. It is not unusual for them to be up to 10% off...and if the speedo is off, then the odometer will be also.

AT last managed to find some time and sort out the wiring under my seat.
While we were on tour the rear turn lights started playing up. Working sometimes and not others.
Turns out the cable had come out of the clip and the tyre rubbed through it
I was deep into Switzerland and sat there at 7:30am in the hotel car park with bike in bits trying to first find the issue and then resolve it by trying to find enough cable to fix the broken bit. It got fixed but it wasn't pretty and had worked for the past 2 months. But yesterday it was time to resolve it all. New pins and cable and it is now looking so much better. The only downside was the cost of the AMP tool to make the connections. But I I have it now and it all looks tidy again. Looking at a wiring diagrams I saw that ever though I don't have stop/turn lights the wiring is in place for them. So this week it will be connecting some new rear/brake lights to the top of my hard bags. Thought I might as well as the wiring is already there

P, Glad you got the wiring resolved. I thought you had lights on your saddlebags....you could also install a Run-Brake-Turn module on those single element LEDs as a option instead of installing more lights. Good luck and ride safe.

Just yesterday I rode up to Chesnee, SC. Nice, easy riding, very few stops. I got 56 mpg on that run, so 55 sounds right to me.

Changed my gas cap from a HD Bar & Shield lockable cap to a Joker Machine Stainless steel flip-up gas cap cause I hate fiddling with keys at the gas station.

Only had turn signals in my bags, and we use orange for turn and red for rear/brake lights

Will post pics when done
