No good reason to replace rivets. Shitcan the inner cover and replace with a cover as mentioned by G. Those screws may work ok, but there are prettier ones.

A Sportster cover will fit directly onto the horizontal holes, but an Evo big twin cover needs the vertical holes, in which case the inner cover can be drilled and tapped to take screws.

Wow...
I rarely disagree with you Graham, but any two hole shovel or evo cover will work in the horizontal position, unless something on the cover needs to be vertical (i.e. RTL/LTR).

Looks like Sputhe Big bore, might be Sputhe cases too,

Take the timing plug out and see if you can read what's on the flywheel, may be S&S

Having bought dedicated Sporty and big twin covers in the past many or most are designed to be installed one way, with the holes drilled accordingly. In the day some designs were available to fit both models, but with holes in different places.

Here ya go:

There are many ways to protect your pick up. I found a center medallion for a Chevy pickup truck hub cap that fits perfect. Drilled the 2 holes and away we go. I also believe it helps to transfer the heat out better than the 2 steels and gasket, O think it would give the pickup a longer life.
