no problem. the hose clamp is holding up strong on the forks with no issues. i trimmed maybe 1" from the total length of the rubber in the speedo clamp but thats about it... its on there tight. as for the wiring i did cut the tube that all the wires were in to separate the dummy lights from the speedo wires and then zip tied them together separately. I can get you the dummy light bracket for $10 if you want it... my only issue was that you can still see the wiring when it was mounted

Well I went for a little ridea last night and snapped a few pics. Thought I'd share...

Just thought the lighting was kinda cool. I also figured out a better way to mount my dummy lights. It is going to take some soldering of wires, but I should be able to make it happen. I'm going to use the lights off of a Dyna when they had them mounted in the headlight brow.

Our brows have the hole, it's just covered up by a little plate that will pop out.

I still need to order the lights but hopefully next weekend I can get it done. Will take some time but I think it'll be worth it!

Well I've been busy the past few nights working on the bike. I got the speedo moved to the fork tube and I like it a lot better! Thanks for the suggestion AK..

I also got the indicator lights swapped out with the Dyna style ones and moved to the brow. I really like this placement. They don't stick out like a sore thumb and are very easy to see. I did have to cut and splice the wires but they are all labeled. I used some "solder sleeve" I think they called it. I also went ahead and used shrink wrap over it even though it's not really needed. I also got a new bar clamp, replacing the boring chrome one it had before.

The little plate is just glued on and pops right off.

Indicator lights from a 2002 Dyna. Harley part # 68789-96

Solder sleeve with solder in the middle and sealant at the ends. No crimping necessary!

Sealed up and soldered connection.

Installed and looking clean!

All the lights work. Success!!

Got rid of another big piece of chrome. Ditched my big chrome air cleaner for a black Screaming Eagle heavy breather. I've always like the look of them.

Well I haven't done too much to the bike lately but I did change up a few things.
Traded my chrome switch housings and my chrome side covers for some black ones from a member. I think they look 10 times better! Just my opinion. While I had the housings off I added a "Cruise Mate" to replace the factory star cruise thing that never worked for me... Come to find out, the little pad that is supposed to be in the housing to push against the throttle was gone. Oh well, I like the new Cruise Mate better. Just push it forward and it's set! Also added a nice little clock on my front brake resivoir. I'm waiting on a seat to get back from the upholstery shop. Just took a stock seat and cut the foam down a little. Can't wait to see it finished up!

Cruise Mate lever..

New black battery cover! 👌

And the black oil tank cover 👌

I also made a good score on a service manual along with an owners manual together. I knew the service manual was a must and thought it'd be sweet to have the owner's manual as well.
