Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Actually once bored to 98", with the proper compression, you will traditionally/historically increase fuel economy
Our Stage I Heads, with our 98" piston/boring/complete Cometic gasket set, ring end gaps are set and installed on the pistons is only $1300.00.
Bolt it together and tune/ride/smile.
Scott
Hey Scott are you around same pricing for 107? And is that with no cams?
Turning into a build thread. Here are my first couple days stages down to the boxes then to the cylinders:
The only real notable tip I have is you will want the s shaped allen wrench for the right side throttle body bolts: http://www.homedepot.com/p/InSinkEra...N-00/100135761 they are a pain to reach and having more angles get to them in that tight space helps.
By the suggestions both on the thread and in my head I am also having the same shop bore the cylinders out to 3.975 to fit the pistons that djl suggested and targeting that 10.08/9.35:1 ratio. Will be taking the cylinders and pistons off this week.
Suggestion on packing the heads: put a piece of cardboard between the mouting surfaces and set them in the box that way with the chambers facing each other.
