So got the cylinders and pistons off:

So is the breather baffle the piece here between the rocker housing and the top of the breather cover?

One caution... the stamped breathers use shorter bolts, they should come in the kt. Using the longer bolts with the stamped breathers can blow out the bottoms of the bolt holes

I found the baffles at Boardtracker but checked Ebay and the listing that has the part doesn't look like it has the bolt. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harley-David...NYLhQi&vxp=mtr Thanks for the heads up on it though. I'll check the part I ordered when it comes in and if it doesn't have the bolts I'll post up what the measured difference is and the bolt it will need.
I was able to get one wrist pin out by hand and then the other I just had to use the butt end of a screwdriver to get out. No wrist pin puller needed!

The breathers I have ordered came with the shorter bolts.

Well, some good news then bad news. Dropped off the heads and the cylinders at the machinist yesterday. We talked plans and target compression and he has the pistons that djl mentioned (even though I can get them cheaper from a friend) and he glanced at one of my heads. He said it looked like my heads already had a port job done on them so he didn't think they needed one, just cleaned up. Sounded great until he sent me pictures later that he looked at my front head but the rear head did not match. The front is probably the original 2006 head with some port work done but when he looked at the rear it was one of the 1999-2005 rear heads and had no port work done on it. On the one hand I will not be saving money by not doing a port (so really just back where I started) on the other hand I have a good feeling about this machinist, Randy Torgensen at Hyperformance in Prairie Hills, IA since he caught it within an hour. I imagine he noticed something was off when he looked at the intake port on the mismatched head.

After ordering the baffles I checked some other threads and found the
26500002 part number is only the baffle and screen. The full kit that includes the stamped baffle, cover, screen, and screws is 17025-03A.

I have a spare set of the new breather stamped cover/bolts (17025-03A) but without gaskets if you want them. You'd just need to get the 26500002 to finish them. If you decide to use the 17025-03A setup the shorter bolts have a different torque spec than what is listed in your manual. 120-156 in-lb for the new style breather vs. (guessing here) 90-120 in-lb for the old style.

The new 17025-03A bolts are 1/4-20 x 1-11/16 vs the old 1/4-20 x 2-1/4. They have a part # of 4400.

Thanks, Matt. I may take you up on that. Currently going to wait until I get all of the parts I have already ordered in to see what I end up with. I did find a rear head that matched my front for $90 on EBay. Hopefully no issues with it.

Right, my bad. I should have learned a long time ago not to rely on my memory......
