Call a local H-D dealer and ask about their Buyer/Seller Assist Program.

Meet at the seller's bank. Give your check to an officer and they will kill the loan and sign the title over to you.

^^^^Thats what I did, no problems.

 

Just call the finance people. Give them permission for them to talk with the future buyer and the payoff and how on your speaker phone. Should be no problem. Picked up a leased Honda, not too many years back. No biggie. Your Harley dealer does not have to be involved.
Not sure why you call a for sale by owner a private sell.
