Here's a DD T2 tweeter mounted in a hog tunes grill.

What would be the better place to mount them. In the center or off to the side.

depends on the look you like. Most of us cover the grille with waterproof speaker cloth to protect the speakers as well as hide what's actually in there. I see my pictures didn't post or you could have seen that. Just for my personal preference, when I had the tweets mounted in the center and didn't have the wrapped in grille cloth, it looked like a boob staring at me. I couldn't deal with it so they got covered. I suppose the off to the side look would alleviate that. The only thing that scares me about any other location than center is the excursion of the woofer that sits behind it. That cone starts hitting so much as a millimeter of that tweet and you can kiss that cone goodbye in a very short time. Its unlikely that a speaker will push that far out between the grille and the BT bracket, but if it ever did...

When you say the cone is that from the tweeter you talking about?

I'm talking about the 6.5" woofer that's mounted behind the tweeter. We know that speaker will never touch the tweet in the grille if it's mounted in the center. Me personally, I would be scared that the speaker's excursion would touch the back of the tweet or a wire if it's mounted up on the edge. Probably won't but without knowing for sure, I prefer to play it safe.

That's what I figured you meant. It looks good off to the side like that but i myself would feel better having it in the center if I decide to go that route. Thx.

Thank you for your responses. I have some idea what you guys did. My other question is with the stock speakers i have on there now, the grills are kind of a cloth. Do i take them off & replace with those hog-tune grills or mount behind it?
