Man cannot believe seeing this, I sold my Fatbob yesterday, I bet I sold a limited edition lol, man that new Fatbob ticks all the boxes, but in a year maybe, when I get some reviews on it, so it will be BMW riding for the next year.
That's one of the things I liked about the wg, get rid of the stock exhaust , go up a 1/2 inch shock you have decent lean angle. As far as the new frame I was just wondering how much u can do to a rigid frame with a hidden shock to make it better. And I am just curious not debating or putting the new models down. I hope it is better. As far as 26 dg for rake, not for me, was not it 07 when they improved the dyna frame by beefing it up , but unless the ad the Fxr triangle ( which so many disliked) it wont be as stiff, I have read.
Without a decent lean angle the new stiffer chassis seems a mute point to me.
I am sure the new Fat Bob will be a real hit though. The stiffer chassis, good lean angles, improved suspension and more refined and powerful engine will address many critics and I am sure bring some new fans.
Fat Bob rear fender look like they did a really bad chop on the Bobtail fender, front fender looks like a box and doesn't flow with the tires shape and headlamp screams import.
Low Rider lost its dual front disk, but at least they keep its lines traditional.
AND they all have radiators (or so it appears) or is that some obnoxious looking oil cooler giving the bike an import water cooler look?
I really don't under stand the reasoning behind loosing the dual rear shock look, it is one of the reasons I went with the Dyna rather than a softy.

Well doubt it is "stupid" ;-). But HD does have to appeal to a new buyer crowd. Which I sorta am included (10 yrs). Even then, someone had to explain to me the differences. I had to show an old friend moving into HD bikes the diff between Dyna and ST. Aside from the faithful, does a separate Dyna and Softail family make sense to the new riders that they need to attract? If the new frame and motor give the sporty feel that the previous Dyna frame gave, does it matter much from a product management perspective? Seems like the biggest difference is the twin counter balancers of the new M8 engine. The vibrations of the rubber mounted TC may be permanent history now.
yea I'd take my twin cam dyna wide glide anyday I like the vibration of a Harley you take that away and to me it looses its appeal

I said the same thing when I was shopping for my bagger. Took a '17 street Glide for a ride before my '16 Road Glide, and the only thing I thought while riding the M8 was "it feels like an inline 4"
Though many new riders will like that. Out with the old (us) in with the new, seems to be the business model. Which while I don't like it, being one of the "old" - I get it. We'll all be dead one day and all the kids raised on technology will be the new customers.

Looks like they have shaved off a lot of metal in the frame, I thought more metal means more strength, I suppose I am not an engineer, and 43 mm forks, back in time pre 2007 again.
