Not my cup of tea, but my son's V-rod certainly has a unique "look" and is a rush to ride.

This ole beauty got my attention as a young buck too. Such a slick ride.

I prefer a basic striped down shovel any day...just don't want to have to ride it daily.

I can remember though what really sealed me wanting one all my own was one day when I was 17 or 18, over at a friends house, a bunch of us just goffing around outside in front of the house (one half a block away from a always busy main 4-lane road) during the summer, I heard a Harley and I looked over and saw a bike like that U model and sitting on it was this huge grey-hair with a big long bushy beard and he's wearing a cowboy rig with double holsters. He wasn't trying to look like a 'cowboy', the rig looked well used and the bike did too, his clothes weren't new either. Just seeing him you knew this guy would as soon shoot you if you screwed with anything he didn't want you screwing with. The bike sure looked good and sounded damn fine. Made me think 'One day damnit!'.

Got the bike (not a U, but a '98 FXD), and I'm a big grey-hair with the big bushy beard, and carry also. The OP's post made me think of that big guy on that old bike so many years ago and suddenly it hit me that it's *me* on that bike only 35 years later. Friggin' wild!
